Girl Scouts of West Central Florida serves nearly 25,000 girl and adult members throughout 8 Tampa Bay area counties. Headquartered in Tampa, FL with 4 camp properties, summer camp is held at Camp Wai Lani in Palm Harbor directly on the Gulf of Mexico and at our equestrian center, Camp Wildwood in Wildwood.

Camp Wai Lani in Palm Harbor is set on 45 acres on the Gulf of Mexico, near Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg. Wai Lani’s unique features include an active waterfront area to canoe, kayak, and paddleboard bordered by beautiful mangroves, an interactive marine lab, refreshing pool, ceramics kiln, and challenge course with a climbing tower and zip line.
Camp Wildwood in Wildwood is about 75 miles northeast of Tampa and 25 miles south of Ocala. Wildwood offers 589 acres of original Florida – piney woods and palmettos in sandy soil, huge live oaks with Spanish moss and marshlands. Wildwood’s unique features include an active equestrian center, interactive nature center, a beloved pioneer homestead program, Junior Olympic sized pool, and a beautiful new lakefront with new lakeside cabins.

The Employee Experience
Staff and campers spend days taking part in many different activities: canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, hiking, camping, archery, challenge course (Wai Lani only), arts & crafts, horseback riding (Wildwood only), outdoor education, songs, games, campfires, traditional camp activities, and more. Our travel campers and staff will spend part of their time at either camp and the rest on adventures such as overnight canoe treks and going to North Carolina.
Camp staff assist in the day-to-day activities in their unit and program areas and help maintain the health and safety of all campers. Staff plan and develop living unit or activity-specific programming and aid in guiding campers in personal growth and challenge-seeking aspects of camp activities through the Girl Scouts 3 processes: Being girl-led, learning by doing, and cooperative learning.
Staff will grow in their leadership skills, gain valuable certifications and training, make lifelong friends, have an unforgettable experience, and have an impact on the lives of hundreds of girls.
The summer camp staff season runs from May 15 or 22 depending on the position, through July 31 and includes staff training. Full and partial summer commitments available for non-leadership staff. Internships available.

Candidates should be enthusiastic, caring adults who are passionate about working with girls. Camp positions require individuals to work long hours. You must have a genuine concern and interest in working with children. Candidates must be at least 18 by June 6.
Room and Board
Room and board is provided for all staff during the season. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and a snakc are served everyday programming is running through the summer! Leftover food is kept in an employee fridge for staff to access on time off as well. We try to accommodate all allergies and dietary restrictions!
Staff will live on site, room and board provided.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Staff are welcome to bring their own vehicles to camp. If you choose to come by bus, plane or train, we will arrange to pick you up.
We're minutes from the Gulf beaches (Camp Wai Lani is ON the Gulf!) and a short drive to Disney World!
