The Employee Experience
Our employees come not only from Montana, but from all across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Meeting new people, creating custom guest experiences, trying new activities, and taking advantage of all The Ranch and the local community has to offer is part of a typical employee experience.
The Ranch is located in a very remote area, and those seeking the hustle and bustle of city life should not look here. Successful employees enjoy the rural beauty of the area and the outdoor activities it provides.
Candidates should have a strong luxury hospitality mindset. Our most successful employees are those who are self-motivated, confident, good at multi-tasking and creating special connections, and who, above all, show impeccable work ethic. A love of the outdoors and an adventuresome spirit are crucial. The desire to work as a team and go above and beyond the call of duty when necessary is what makes our Ranch so special. We encourage cross-training in other departments. Employees must be comfortable working flexible scheduling that is dependent on resort occupancy. Preference is given to candidates able to complete longer seasonal agreements, 6-9 months.
Room and Board
Shared onsite staff housing is available at no cost. We also offer complimentary access to basic food provisions and a Staff Cook prepares lunch daily. While vegetarian and gluten-free choices are sometimes provided, we are unable to cater to strict dietary concerns. Employees are responsible for their own dinners and anything beyond what is provided. Kitchens are available for use, either in the unit or in a common area. Free laundry facilities, wifi and workout room.
Company housing is shared and houses anywhere from 2-4 people depending on the structure. Pets are not allowed in staff housing. Those who wish to live off-site may find rentals in Philipsburg, MT.
Employees have access to TV, movies, games, and WiFi in a common recreation area. Employees are encouraged to take advantage of activities offered at The Ranch, which includes fly fishing, horseback riding, snowshoeing, archery, ropes course and more. Hiking and biking abound in the local area. Excursions offsite include white water rafting, ziplining and touring of Montana offerings.
Employees get performance/appreciation rewards, swag, access to pro-deals and equipment discounts.
Employees who successfully complete the season will be eligible for an end of agreement bonus.
Full-time, year-round employees enjoy a benefits package that includes insurance, PTO, 401(k) and holidays.
Getting Here and Getting Around

The Ranch at Rock Creek staff enjoys Montana at its finest. There is exceptional access to hiking, camping, and backpacking in the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness. There are plenty of chances to try new hobbies, such as horseback riding, archery, ice skating or sapphire mining. Southwest Montana is an excellent place for budding photographers, who will see some of the most diverse wildlife in the United States.
In addition, staff members will find themselves steps away from Rock Creek, one of the world’s only Blue Ribbon trout streams. More fishing access is enjoyed on Flint Creek and Georgetown Lake. If you love to fly fish, there is almost no better place in the world to spend a season. Just 25 minutes away, Discovery Ski Area is an alpine skiing destination that becomes a mountain biking mecca in the summer.
