Currently seeking applications for the following positions for Late Spring/Summer 2022:

  • Receptionist/Front Office

    The primary role of the Receptionist/Front Office agent is to work with the front office team to provide Oakland Houseguests with an exceptional service experience. The agent’s primary role will be to complete a variety of tasks which include check-in and check out, completing daily checklists, and working with guests to ensure their satisfaction.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Ability to encourage, build trust, respect and cooperation among team members
    • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly by speaking so others will understand
    • Hear and speak the English language fluently
    • Aptitude for working with adults, children, and a variety of personalities
    • Capable of providing customer service with a fun, friendly attitude and a smile

  • Server

    As a restaurant Server, you will follow established service processes to provide exceptional service to Oakland House guests in our food & beverage outlets and banquet events.

  • Housekeeping

    Housekeepers work with the Housekeeping team to provide Oakland House guests with an exceptional guest service experience. The Housekeeper's primary role is to ensure a consistently clean, orderly and attractive environment within all guest rooms and guest areas.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • 1 year of experience in Housekeeping or related experience preferred
    • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
    • Ability to live and work in Brooksville, Maine May through October
  • General Manager

    The General Manager's main job will include, but not be limited to answering the phone, responding to emails, taking reservations, and working with the Owners to create and execute a marketing plan. You may also be needed to help out in other areas of work around the resort during the guest season including but not limited to: Housekeeping, Food Service, and planning and booking resort Activities. Entertaining and spending time with the guests is also a key element of a job at the Oakland House.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Two years or more of experience in hospitality management.

  • Head Chef

    The primary role of the Head Chef is to manage the kitchen staff in the daily production, preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel’s kitchen and special events/banquets in a safe and sanitary work environment, as well as working with the owners to create menus. Must ensure all food is served according to specifications and be responsible for supervising all areas of the kitchen working in conjunction with all Line Cooks and Sous Chefs.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • One year or more of experience in the culinary industry is required.
    • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Working knowledge of Culinary processes and procedures
    • ServSafe Certification is required.
    • Ability to work at least 40 hours a week including weekends and holidays

  • Line Cook

    As a Line Cook your primary responsibility is to work with the kitchen staff in the daily production, preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel's restaurants in a safe and sanitary work environment. You will also ensure all food is served according to specification set by the Head Chef and Sous Chefs.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • High school education or equivalent experience preferred
    • One or more year of experience in a restaurant kitchen
    • Be an enthusiastic, helpful and positive member of the team
    • Be professional, responsible and mature
    • Report to work on time in a clean uniform ready to work
    • Complete daily prep list
    • Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils
    • Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in the work area
    • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep fryers and griddles
    • Pre-cook items such as bacon in order to prepare for later use
    • Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions as to food required: prepare and cook food according to instructions
    • Verify that prepared foods meet quality and quantity requirements
    • Wash, cut and prepare foods designated for cooking
    • Clean, stock and restock workstations and reach-in
    • Decorate and garnish desserts with proper sauces and fruit
    • Be knowledgeable of all stations in the restaurant
    • Be knowledgeable of plate presentations and preparations of all menu items
    • Communicate with all line cooks daily for proper pars and production requirements in specific work stations
    • Maintain the buffet in the restaurant and any action stations that are required by business demands
    • Maintain and rotate all food items to ensure food quality; date and label all food items and actively practice FIFO (First-In-First-Out)
    • Strive to minimize waste and breakage

  • Laundry Attendant

    The Laundry Attendant's primary role is to ensure a consistently clean and attractive linen product in a timely manner that will be used within all guest rooms and guest areas.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
    • Ability to live and work in Brooksville, Maine May through October

     

  • Groundskeeping

    The primary role of the Groundskeeper is to assist with the daily maintenance of: all turf areas, landscape areas, gardens, and public areas of Oakland House resort.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • High School or equivalent education with a minimum of one year of experience as in grounds/gardens preferred
    • Must know how to operate lawn mowers, weed whips, sheers, pruners, chain saws, etc.
    • Must enjoy working outside and appreciate the physicality of the position
    • Ability to develop detailed and specific procedures and processes outlining the steps to follow in completing department and/or project tasks
    • Be an enthusiastic, helpful and positive member of the team
    • Ability to live and work in Brooksville, Maine May through October
