Steamboat Bay Fishing Club is the closest lodge to the best fishing spots of Alaska's famed Inside Passage. This exclusive wilderness luxury resort presides over a scenic, private bay on the north coast of Noyes Island near Ketchikan, Alaska, just 90 minutes from Seattle.

Steamboat Bay Fishing Club operates as a guest lodge June-August. During this time, the lodge has a crew of 27 people and services 24 guests. We are seeking someone to be a part of this team during the summer months, but also be willing to live on the island in the offseason.

We are seeking a candidate with an extensive background in infrastructure associated with off-grid properties. Experience in remote Alaska is strongly preferred. Qualified applicants should be comfortable driving a forklift, operating boats and managing a rigorous maintenance and project schedule. Some admin work required, so basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is important.

Applicant must be comfortable living very remotely for extended periods of time. The lodge property is the only facility on the island and for many miles. Ideal candidate has a background with proven success in this environment. Hardworking, honest, and committed individuals will be best suited to this opportunity.

Competitive Annual Salary and Room & Board Included.

Candidate should be comfortable with the below:

  • Operating a boat in Alaska
  • Managing water system/Alaska State Certification required
  • Servicing of generators and alternative power sources
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical systems
  • Troubleshooting and when able, repair of all areas associated with luxury remote camp
  • Project scheduling and management
  • Current AK CDL, or ability to obtain.
  • Forklift experience
  • Customer satisfaction and face-to-face interaction with guests
  • Ability to interact with co-workers in closed camp-like environment
  • Ability to communicate with ownership group when on-property

This position may also share duties at our sister property, Waterfall Resort.

This role is FT Year-Round, with extended periods off.
